Year 1 look at feeling blue!

16th Jan 2024

We have began our new topic “Brr it’s cold”.  We’ve been building igloos and learning about animals that live in very cold places.  We made our own blue play dough and have been exploring our feelings-particularly feeling sad. We’ve read stories and are currently learning about lots of ways we can help ourselves when we are sad.  Today in circle time we listened to a social story, learned how to give ourselves a butterfly hug, how to use our hand to do the ‘Take 5’ breathing exercise, cuddled a soft toy and shook a relax bottle.  We can’t wait to make our very own! We felt good being with our friends!
