Recently, the Department of Education launched a "Curriculum-led Capital Investment Programme" with an initial focus on installing covered, all-weather sports facilities, particularly in primary schools. The Minister of Education advised that twenty school settings would be taken forward within the scheme.
Last term, Mrs McAuley submitted an application highlighting our school's proven track record in sports development. Yesterday, our school received notification from the Minister of Education that St. Mary's has been selected!
Mrs McAuley said, "With such a large interest in the pilot I am delighted our school has been selected for investment. The staff and I are absolutely thrilled with this news as we have shown our commitment to sports over the years. We look forward to the next steps as the project moves forward. In time, this will support our pupils' mental and physical health by allowing for improved PE facilities at our school."
