"Slithering Science” - Year 7 Uncover the Secrets of Snakeskin
Year 7 were buzzing with excitement when Eilish, our wonderful Year 2 classroom assistant, surprised them with something truly extraordinary—a delicate snakeskin from a Rock Viper all the way from Uganda, believed to be over 50 years old. As she carefully passed it around, the pupils were fascinated by its intricate patterns, transparent scales, and surprisingly fragile texture, sparking a sense of awe and curiosity across the room. Questions flew as they examined every detail, imagining the snake it once belonged to. Inspired by the experience, the children eagerly continued their learning afterwards, diving into research about venomous snakes, discovering how they hunt, how their venom works, and where they live around the world. What began as a simple visit quickly turned into an unforgettable scientific adventure. Thank you Eilish for a once in a lifetime opportunity!!
