Practical maths in Year 6!
20th May 2026
Year 6 have enjoyed practical maths both indoors and outdoors. First, they explored measuring length and weight through a range of activities.
They then moved on learning about 2D shapes. In pairs, they rolled two dice, added the total and used it to find a shape with that number of sides on a grid. They challenged each other by naming the shape, identifying whether it was regular or irregular, and discussing lines of symmetry, parallel sides and angles.
