‘One kind word’ in Year 1

This year the theme for Anti-bullying week is ‘one kind word’.  We discussed kind words and actions in circle-time and shared a social story at school together and at home this week.  As part of the PATHS programme a child is chosen to be the ‘star of the day’.  The rest of the children give compliments, saying what they like about the chosen child- so our word we picked was ‘like’.  We have been decorating, practising reading, making, printing and writing this word as we use it everyday to make our friends feel good about themselves.
