Once Upon a Time - Hansel and Gretel

Year 1 and 2 have been developing early programming skills with their little class robot, Beebot. They had the task of helping Beebot find his way through the forest to the witch’s cottage. What great fun whilst developing directional language, sequencing and problem solving skills! The children also discussed how maps can be used to find places and drew their own maps for Hansel and Gretel to find their way home. They used a black box to look at how reflectors need a light source to reflect light, just like the pebbles that Hansel set down!
