Nursery saved a Bumblebee!
After our busy morning at the Vets we were having fun in the sunshine in the garden when Cathaoir and Mrs Hardy found a bumblebee on the ground. Mrs Hardy carefully picked it up and talked to the children about bumblebees not stinging us and they are very good in the garden so we don't need to be afraid of them. We moved the bumblebee over to the daffodil so it could get some nectar from the flower.
All the boys and girls came to have a look at it siting on the flower letting its wings dry and its body warm up.
We could see the very special tongue unfold and suck up some nectar. The bumblebee stayed on the daffodil while we had our dinner and then it flew away.
