Hard Work, Long Hours… and No Complaining About Chores!

Year 7 pupils have been learning about what life was like for children in Victorian times, focusing on the harsh reality of children at work. They explored the jobs many children were forced to do, including working in factories, mines and as chimney sweeps, and considered why child labour was so common. After discovering what a real hard day’s work looked like, pupils agreed they may think twice before complaining about their own household chores!
