Busy Bees in Year 2 🐝

27th Oct 2025

We have had a busy half term in Year 2!

The children have been exploring pumpkins during outdoor learning and becoming authors of spooky books at the writing table. They were using their 5 senses on an Autumn walk, planting radishes, making houses for Elmer and developing their fine motor skills at the Halloween tuff tray. They have also been creative, producing lots of beautiful art pieces relating to Halloween, and they even had the chance to make chocolate apples 🍎

We also listened to the famous children’s book “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds; a story which celebrates the creative spirit in everyone. Similar to Vashti (the child in the story), the Year 2s were given a page and were encouraged to make their own mark. Have a look at some of their fantastic paintings which all stemmed from a single dot 😊
