‘A Winter Wonderland’ in Nursery

As our ‘Winter Wonderland’ topic finishes this week, here’s a few snaps of what the children have been doing.  After building a real snowmen in week 1, we continued indoors with a big one- group effort 🙌 and also made little clay snowmen friends.  We listened to stories, played with, pretended to be, painted and learned about lots of polar animals.  We made a ‘Hot Chocolate’ cafe and made some for a Friday treat. We made our cold fake snow for the sensory bin and we made our very own milk and gelatine icebergs.  We observed the melting process in several different activities and freed the little polar animals from the ice.  Thinking and problem solving skills were evident as the children came up with lots of ways to speed up the rescue mission.
